21 Savage serviced over 1500 children in East Atlanta at his Third Annual Issa Back to School Drive. The drive allowed for children to of course receive school supplies including; paper, pens, pencils, art supplies, backpacks and much more. Boys and girls also had a chance to get free haircuts and braiding. The family affair would not of been complete without the bounce houses , vendors, music, food and special give away prizes.
21 Savage is a community man and has a soft spot for children, “its all about the kids I’m gone give them everything I can.” His back to school drive isn’t the only initiative he has taken to give back to the children in his community. Savage previously partnered with the nonprofit organization Get Schooled for his “Bank Account Campaign” to teach children from low-income areas how to save, make, and manage money as well as how to open up bank accounts. Savage has his own non-profit Lead By Example and he intends on doing just that,””Giving back to where I grew up means a lot to me, these kids need it and I use to be one of those kids. Being able to see someone from where your from make it and come back to give back will motivate these kids to do the same for their kids and the community”.
Savage also put on the 1st Zone 6 Day in celebration of the East Atlanta; thousands came out to Coan Park to participate in the fellowship food and fun and it has said to be another community event he plans to do annually. During the event their was a gun shot and someone injured. The local Atlanta News Channel reported that the shooting happened at the back 2 School event when in all reality the two events happened on two different days.
