Tyler Perry is far from new when it comes to giving back. On July 16th, 2020 Perry teamed up with the Atlanta Police Department to donate 1000 Kroger gifts cards to Atlanta residents.

“This is about the community that I love, that I live in and work in. This is about good people who are in need of a hand up not a hand out,” Perry stated. “This is about the good police officers who do their job well every day some of which are my personal friends.”

“Thank you to Tyler Perry for donating $50 Kroger gift cards to help us spread good will in the community. We gave out the gift cards in Zone 3 (Southeast Atlanta) near the Dunbar Recreation Center & the former Wendy’s location on University Ave. We must work together to heal after protests & civil unrest.” APD stated in a post on Instagram.

The officers went door to door, gas stations, and walked the streets of Atlanta passing out the gift cards in the community. The gift cards were worth $50.

Back in April, 2020 Perry gave back in another major way surprised thousands of elderly shoppers at 44 Krogers in Atlanta, and 29 Winn-Dixie stores in varies cities in Louisiana by paying for their groceries.
