Ty Dolla $ign is bringing that West Coast sound to our airwaves. He new single entitled “By Yourself” featuring Jhené Aiko, Bryson Tiller, and Mustard. The music video continues the list of stars by including comedian Tiffany Haddish as the leading lady.
Vintage cars, retro clothes, and Haddish’s killer dance moves gives it a “back in the day” feel. The video, co-directed by Alex Bittan and Ty Dolla $ign, opens to an angry voicemail left by Haddish where she complains to her partner about being selfish in their relationship. In the end, she pushes through without the unidentifiable man and self-empowering herself while dancing to the lyrics, “You ain’t never ‘fraid to be by yourself.”
Ty Dolla $ign always delivers with the remixes so seeing Bryson Tiller back on the scene is an iconic moment. Jhené Aiko stole the spotlight dancing in front of vintage cars with a gold “Chilombo” decal, a direct reference to her 2020 album Chilombo.
