With over 10 years in the game, Josh “JBetazz” Adams has showed us that hard work and dedication pays off. From Hartford, to Los Angeles, to Atlanta, JBeatzz is beginning to make his stamp in the log of big name producers of this generation. 

JBeatzz has produced and engineered for many artist including Nicki Minaj, Future, Travis Scott and Big Boi of Outkast just to name a few. His record “Stop Trying to Be God” on Travis Scott’s Astroworld album landed him his first ever Grammy Nomination for Best Rap Album.

In addition to Travis Scott, JBeatzz produced two songs on Nicki Minaj Queen album including “Coco Chanel” ft Foxy Brown and “Inspirations Outro”. We caught up with the super producer to talk the music industry, becoming Grammy nominated and new music!

Where are you from?

I was born in Hartford CT. and raised in New London CT.

When did you first know you wanted to be a producer?

The moment I knew I wanted to be a producer is when I purchased my Magix music maker on PlayStation 2. I loved it so much that I bought my first beat machine that year which was a Roland MC-909. The rest is history.

Did you attend college for music?

Yes, I attended and graduated from Full Sail University

What was your first placement record as a producer?

My first placement was with Big Boi from OutKast. I produced the record General Patton which was a huge hit, lit was also featured in the NFL Pepsi Max commercial in 2010.

What is one thing that this industry has taught you?

I learned to stay consistent and hungry. Sometime you have to leave the city that your in and step out on faith.

You are nominated for a Grammy, what was your reaction when you first found out?

Wow I been waiting for this moment my whole career. What’s next.
