Issa Rae partners with Converse to launch her first-ever sneakers collection, “Issa Rae By You,” which features inspirational messages.
The “Insecure” actress collaborated with graphic design artist Nick Fulcher to modify the brands’ Chuck 70 shows. One of the most striking upgrades to the classic show design is the addition of affirmations on each shoe. Each shoe showcases some of Rae’s personal inspiration phrases such as “Do it All,” “Celebrate the Wins,” and “Walking in Your Purpose.”
“It’s was all about empowering the next generation to get up and DO what it is they aspire to do,” says the budding Media Mogul in a press release. “So the team took some of my personal affirmations and approaches to life and put them into the design of the shoe.”
Rae took to Instagram to share the exciting debut of her new sneaker line with fans.
“Excited to share my collaboration with @Converse for Issa Rae By You!” the actress writes. “The limited-edition collection is center around my daily affirmations and manifestations. Much love to the genius visionary, @nonbizz & to the incredible designer, @NickyChulp, for bringing the concept to life so beautifully.”
