Some people may view it as an unlikely pair, but Kanye West and Joel Osteen will work together again, this time in New York City. The event called ‘A Night of Hope’, will be held at the legendary Yankee Stadium. These special events have been held by Osteen previously and according to Joelosteen.com, “A Night of Hope” event “last for 2 to 2 1/2 hours and are filled with praise and worship music, encouragement from Victoria Osteen, a prayer time together and an inspiring message from Joel Osteen. There is no intermission.”
Kanye attended Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Texas in November for the first time and performed songs with his Sunday Choir. West released his ninth studio album, “Jesus Is King” in October. Every song on the album landed on Billboard Hot 100. During his last visit to the mega church in Texas, Kanye spoke on stage next to Joel and told the audience, “ I know that God has been calling me for a long time. And I know that the devil has been distracting me for a long time.”
When asked what they hope will be the lasting impact of West’s visit to the church, Osteen replied, “The lasting impact is that people’s lives are changed.” Tickets for previous events to see West and his Sunday Choir perform have been as little as $15. He began the Sunday musical services early this year at his church in California and has now expanded to other cities and even different countries. The event at Yankee Stadium does not yet have tickets for sale, but the religious gathering is expected to take place in May of 2020.
