In a recent interview, Eddie Murphy discussed all the new yet familiar projects he has coming up. Next year, “Coming To America 2” will hit theaters and “48 Hours” Part 4 is scheduled to release on Netflix. The Oscar Award winning actor and comedian shared that he will be 59 next year. His career took off 40 years ago in the 1980’s and hasn’t slowed down since.

Murphy says that its not really a comeback because even if he wanted to, he can’t leave. “30 years ago they didn’t have all these movie channels, they didn’t have the internet. But now, you go and flip on one of these movie channels and I’ll have 4 of 4 films.” said Murphy.

He says that in the span of his career, he is especially proud of The Nutty Professor. “If you said that I had to take one movie of mine and said that picture has to represent you, I would take that movie. That shows a bunch of different stuff that I could do.”

The versatile actor known for playing the roles of several characters in one film started entertaining 40 ago when he was featured as a regular on Saturday Night Live. One of his highest grossing films was that of the character in the children’s film Shrek, where he was the voice of Donkey. He admitted that making movies isn’t fun for him, especially when there is a great deal of makeup involved. This weekend he will return to NBC to host SNL with special guest Lizzo.
