Actress and singer Teyana Taylor is teaming up with MAC Cosmetics for a highly anticipated, limited-edition collection.
M·A·C x Teyana Taylor Collection has been in the making for over a year. This partnership stemmed from Taylor’s “authentic love for the brand and it’s artistry.” Taylor has been a fan of the brand since she was 15-years-old after receiving a gift set filled with limited-collections of MAC products, like Hello Kitty and Alexander McQueen. She said she began playing with the products and “developed her own finishes, colours and textures,” according to the press release.
Taylor expressed her excitement for this collaboration, “I’m so grateful and excited to be sharing this beautiful collection I created with the M•A•C team but also hoping to inspire other young women that anything and everything is possible.”
The inspiration behind Taylor’s collection is “90’s fashion and beauty.” She said, “I was inspired by the 90s and the heart & soul of Harlem and wanted to show that through the shades and packaging.”
The company released a statement regarding the new business venture with Taylor. “As a longtime friend of the brand, we’ve grown to know and love Teyana for having a style unlike anyone else. She’s fierce, bold and unapologetically herself, no matter what she’s wearing – all qualities we stand for at M•A•C, and are so excited to bring to life through this new collaboration.”
The collection is set to be released this summer.
