Afrochella Partners with YouTube to Provide Music Master Classes to Attendees

The Ghana-based music festival, Afrochella will join #YouTubeBlack this December to bring musical education resources to Ghana. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about music production, participate in panel discussions, and much more. 

The one-day event hosted by the Culture Management Group in partnership with YouTube Music, will offer young professionals who are aspiring to develop careers in music the opportunity to work directly with expert musicians and industry specialists. The event will also offers guests the opportunity to interact with guest speakers during a three-part panel series. The series includes Future Voices of Africa, A Queen Leads, which spotlights women in the music industry, and The Diaspora Effect, which examines the growth of the African music industry. December 27 will be the date for the event at the Afrochella Music Museum.

Afrochella is a festival that was designed to celebrate Africa’s unique culture and to highlight the vivacious and prosperous African creatives as well as new millennial talent in Africa.The festival features performances from some of the world’s most popular artists like Wiz Kid and Stonebwoy.

Since its creation, Afrochella has placed a spotlight on young individuals who identify as creatives. In a recent press release, Abdul Karim Abdullah the CEO and Co-Founder of Afrochella states, “We’re so proud to join #YouTubeBlack to bring musical education resources to Ghana. With the help of this program, we can continue to inspire and influence the next generation of young African artists.” The Future Insiders program is part of YouTube’s Music Community pillar, which aims to facilitate opportunities for exposure and education for youth worldwide.

The partnership began from both The Culture Management Group and the #YoutubeBlack voices Fund’s similar missions of elevating black voices. “Afrochella has long been a beacon of light for young talent in Africa and we are thrilled to partner with them to further strengthen our commitment to empowering the next wave of Black voices.” said Addy Awofisayo, Head of Music, Sub-Saharan Africa, YouTube.
