Alicia Keys and the NFL are doing their part to give back to Black owned businesses during trying times.
They are using their partnership to influence the community and create a $1 billion fund towards Black-owned businesses.
“As an artist, I’m always thinking about how I can use my platform to further racial equity,” says Keys. “This fund is one of the answers and our goal is to empower Black America through investing in Black businesses, Black investors, institutions, entrepreneurs, schools and banks in a way to create sustainable solutions.” Keys hopes to use this fund as a foundation for other businesses to join in by also investing.
Based on Keys statements, the fund aims to create a multi-sector contributor field where businesses from different industries are able to invest.
The NFL has also taken steps to ensure social justice during their 2020 football season. This partnership collaborates well with their overall mission.
