A Phoenix police department began performing buccal swaps on all male employees at a healthcare facility, where a woman in a vegetative state went into labor. According to CNN, there was search warrant issued to the Hacienda Healthcare Center, in an effort to obtain records. The family shared via their attorney that they are indeed “outraged, traumatized and in shock” by the news.
The victim, which can not be named given the sexual abuse investigation, gave birth to a baby boy on December 29. The mother and son duo have remained In the hospital, as they have been receiving treatment since. Once released, the family has committed to caring for the newborn.
