Former President Barack Obama showed up surprising many volunteers at a Chicago Food Bank this past Wednesday. He helped volunteers prepare meals for the upcoming holidays to distribute to those in need in the local community.
The former president shocked volunteers at the Greater Chicago Food Depository when Obama showed up for his unannounced visit. In partnership with the Obama Foundation, he wanted to find a way to give back to the community personally.
In a tweet from Barack Obama, he stated, “I am grateful for the next generation of leaders — the young people who are tolerant, creative, idealistic and doing the work to create the world as it should be.” It’s great to see public officials involved in their community and giving back!
