In today’s society, to get a homeownership loan potential owners need have a list of qualifications, including a great credit score. Daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., Bernice King, has helped develop a way to make that process easier.
Ready Life adopts a new way for mortgage lending that relies on buyers’ rental payment history. The new financial technology platform was founded by King and finance attorney, Ashley D. Bell. “We are rewriting the rules for homeownership.” Ready Life bases future home ownership on “what matters” other than credit. “We believe that a family with a documented history of paying their rent on time will pay their mortgage in the same fashion.” says Bell.
Also serving as Advisory Board Chair of Ready Life, Bernice King believes this revolutionary model keeps her father’s dream alive. “I believe that Ready Life can help rectify decades of discrimination in the area of homeownership by helping to remove unnecessary barriers.”
Ready Life consists of three financial products and services; a Ready Pay Visa Debit Card, Ready Mortgage, and Ready Merchant. Ready Life is currently conducting it’s Series A round of funding led by Ready Life sponsor, Figure Technologies Inc.
The new platform will launch this fall.
