Beyoncé partners with Peloton, an interactive fitness platform, to offer themed classes and an unforgettable homecoming experience.
This week, the company announced a multi-year partnership with the cultural icon. The GRAMMY award-winning artist will help create themed classes for various exercise regimens, such as running, cycling, and strength training.
“It’s showtime,” Peloton writes in a tweet. “The @Beyonce artist series has arrived. Get ready to ride, run, lift, flow, sing, love, and celebrate the power of music all week long. Check out the live schedule to elevate your next sweat- Beyonce Style.”
Peloton describes their new partnership with the award-winning singer as a “multi-year partnership rooted in the celebration of music.”
“[Peloton and I] We both believe that the power of music can help uplift. motivate and inspire those on their fitness journeys,” Beyonce said in a statement. “I’m excited to partner with a company that helps people, young and old, be the best versions of themselves, in an innovative and adaptable way.”
The first series of workouts will be tailed to Homecoming season, a unique cultural experience that takes place at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) during the fall.
“This year has tested all of us and I know the college experience looks a little different than planned, and many were not able to celebrate Homecoming the way they wanted to.” Beyoncé says, “still, I hope everyone was able to take time to reflect and to celebrate the strength, excellence and resilience of our community. I’m proud to celebrate the students at HBCUs with this donation, to encourage them to find and embrace their own wellness regimens.”
Beyonce’s ‘Homecoming’ themed classes were intended to help create the Homecoming experience that the majority of HBCU students missed out on due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As a gift, Beyonce offers HBCU students a 2-year digital membership to the Peloton App.
The subscription will provide unlimited access to a wide variety of fitness classes. All students at the following HBCU’s will have access to the free membership by the end of November; Howard University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, Bennett College, Hampton University, Texas Southern University, Wilberforce University and Grambling State University.
For those of us who aren’t able to receive the free membership, the monthly digital membership for Peloton is only $12.99.
