Beyoncé Sings A Beautiful Tribute to Honor of the Passing of Lyric Chanel

Let’s all take a moment to recognize the beautiful life of 13-year-old Lyric Chanel, who passed away of brain cancer and anaplastic ependymoma on March 5th. An Instagram account called Go Gold For Childhood Cancer shared the tragic news on Friday afternoon.

“Lyric gained her angel wings this morning at the age of 13 years old,” the page wrote. “Lyric bravely battled Anaplastic Ependymoma and endured more than a child ever should. She loved singing, listening to music, and dancing. I know she most definitely dancing with all the angels right now. Watch over your family baby girl! You are forever missed!”

During her two-year battle, Lyric gained a massive following on social media as her family documented her journey which caught the attention of many celebrities including Cardi BTrae The Truth, and Queen B Beyoncé

Beyoncé and Lyric developed a relationship after a viral video of Lyric singing one of her hit songs broke the internet. In a full turn of events, Beyoncé returned the favor by singing “Brown Skin Girl,” “Halo” and “Love on Top” in tribute to the young girl’s passing. According to Complex, for the “Love on Top” revamp, Bey sings Lyric’s name instead of the “baby” heard in the original version of the song.

The tribute was posted to her website and social media for all to enjoy. Listen to the full tribute below:
