The 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards nominations are in and fans couldn’t agree more!
Unsurprisingly, Drake, Cardi B and Childish Gambino take the lead for the nominations for this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards. Drake is in the lead with 11 nominations, followed by Cardi B who has 10, and to round out the Top 3 is Childish Gambino, who raked in six of his own. Tied next at five nods each are Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar.
The 31-year-old rap star has 11 nominations in total including Best Hip-Hop Video for ‘God’s Plan’, the coveted Album of the Year for ‘Scorpion’ and Best Collab, Duo or Group for his work with Blocboy JB on ‘Look Alive’. Drizzy is also nominated for Lyricist of the Year, MVP of the Year, and Single of the Year categories.
Cardi B is back again following her great win at last year’s award show with with five awards including Best New Hip Hop Artist. This year the “Invasion Of Privacy” rapper is vying against Drake in many of the previously mentioned categories including Album of the Year, Best Hip Hop Video, Album of the Year, MVP of the Year and Single of the Year.
Up for the honor in the Best New Hip Hop Artist category are Blocboy JB, Juice Wrld, Lil Baby, Rich The Kid and the late XXXTENTACION
For the second year in a row, the awards ceremony will be returning to The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami on October 6. BET will premiere the annual broadcast on October 16 at 8 p.m. ET. Make sure to tune in ! There will also be great performances lined up.
