While celebrating his birthday this past weekend, Drake announced that his long-awaited album will be released in January 2021.

The rapper’s label OVO Sound dropped a promo video on Saturday, Oct 24., on Drake’s birthday.

Devoted fans quickly noticed subtle ways the rapper paid homage to some of his most iconic projects to date. The promo references projects such as So Far Gone, Take Care, Nothing Was The Same, and even his latest single, Dark Lane Tapes by recreating these album covers. The teaser starts with a young boy looking up into the sky, standing under a spotlight as leaves began to fall, this opening image resembles the cover art for his first mixtape, So Far Gone.

Back in April, Drake initially announced that his 6th studio album would be released in summer 2020.

Despite the short delay, Drizzy did release the first single off the forthcoming album, “Laugh Now Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk on August 14, which debuted on Billboards Hot 100 Chart in the #2 spot.
