Kevin Hart received a lot of backlash from the LBGT community after a 10 year old tweets resurfaced of the comedian making homophobic jokes via twitter. Because of the tweets, Kevin then went to twitter to announce that he will be stepping down from hosting the Oscars.
I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.

Kevin Hart made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show to do promo for his new film, but the conversation turned left as Ellen brought up the Oscars. An interview that was suppose to be 30 minutes turned into 1 hour.
Ellen informed Kevin that she reached out to the Academy and asked them to take him back as a host. “So I called the academy today cause I really want you to host the Oscars”, “The were like ‘Oh my gosh, we want him to host. We feel like that maybe he misunderstood, or was handled wrong or maybe we said the wrong thing, but we want him to host. Whatever we can do, we would be thrilled and we think he should host the Oscars.” said Ellen.
Ellen, who has hosted the Oscars twice, encouraged Kevin to change his mind, and host the Oscars. “You have grown, you have apologized, your apologizing again right now, you’ve done it; don’t let those people winner, host the Oscars.
The episode was scheduled to air on Monday, January 7th, but the producers at the Ellen DeGeneres show have decided for it to air today, January 4th.
