After being charged for falsely reporting of being involved in an anti-gay/anti-black crime, Jussie Smollett was written off the last few episodes of the hit musical drama, ‘Empire’. Even though those charges were dropped, Empire still has no intentions in bringing Jussie’s character, Jamal, back onto to the show.
His co-workers, Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, and other cast members are not too thrill about this decision, according to TMZ . TMZ explains that the cast feels that the character Jamal, Jussie’s role, is extremely important to the show, and they don’t think his return will hurt ratings. They also explained that Jussie’s co-stars have been doing things such as trying to seek influence on network executives to bring Jussie back full time.
Smollett was hit with 16 felony accounts because of these reports. As of today, Jussie stands by his statement that he was really attacked. His Empire family continues to fight for his return for Season 6. What are your thoughts on these charges Jussie Smollett had faced?
