We wouldn’t be where we are as a culture without powerful leaders like Martin Luther Kings, and Malcomb X. It’s safe to say the motivational guru, educator and problem-solver Eric Thomas is making such a huge impact world wide that he is clearly evolving into as such for our generation. With over 2.1 million followers on Instagram, 1.35 Million subscribers on YouTube, Thomas has used his platform to offer insights that will exchange a listeners cycle of failures for patterns of success. “I want to be that voice to the powerful people in our communities, which is everybody, and make sure that they know everyday somebodies looking out for them and somebodies gonna push them to greatness.” Thomas tells JaGurl TV at the Invest Fest 2022.
In preparation for the release of his book ‘You Owe You’ Thomas spoke very passionatly about helping people recognize their gifts, power and place in the world. “A lot of people, no disrespect, they do a lot of things for themselves, I’ve been doing what I’ve been doing from the beginning for the culture”, he continued, “I want to be that voice to the powerful people in our communities, which is everybody, and make sure that they know everyday somebodies looking out for them and somebodies gonna push them to greatness.”
Thomas left us with 3 take-a-ways that he wants any one reading to take with them:
- “You owe you, meaning you have to be fully responsible for you, even if it aint your fault its your fault. Because results are up to you.”
- “We have to be critical thinkers. A lot of us are building with one hand, then we tear it down with the same hand with the decisions that we are making.”
- “Be authentic. For me it’s like ‘be your authentic self’, A lot of people ain’t gone feel you.”
