Tessica Brown, a.ka. ‘Gorilla Glue Girl’ announces the launch of her hair care line “Forever Hair,” months after her gorilla glue ordeal.
The 40-year-old went viral earlier this year after using adhesive Gorilla Glue Spray Adhesive Heavy Duty to replace hairspray. After going more than a month with her hair shellacked to her head, Brown finally received surgery. The surgery left Brown with very little hair. Thus began her journey to find products and serums that optimized her hair’s health and growth.
“I have been working with professionals, and we came up with a hairline, Forever Hair,” Brown tells PEOPLE. “It has been helping me grow my hair back and maintain it.”
Inspired by her own battle with hair growth and retention, Brown decided to create her own hair care line.
Brown took to Instagram on Wednesday, June 16th to share the news with her fans.
“Happy Wednesday!! I’m so excited to share with y’all my amazing hair product I’ve been working on for months that helped my hair grown and keeps my scalp healthy,” Brown captions the post. “Y’all know how I love my hair products and I cannot wait for you to try them.”
Accompanying the post is a video, Brown details her scalp and hair issues following the Gorilla glue ordeal.
“As y’all already known, about four months ago I ran out of hairspray and ended up using Gorilla Glue Spray- bad, bad idea,” she begins the clip. “As a result of that, I ended up losing my hair and having scalp damage. But since then, I’ve been working with professionals to create and formulate a hair root oil.”
“I needed this oil to one heal my scalp. I needed it to grow my hair back. I needed it to stimulate my hair follicles, and on top of that, I needed everything to be natural,” she explains. “My scalp feels amazing, and my hair is already growing back. This oil has been a lifesaver.”
Brown’s Forever Hair line includes hair spray, edge control and root oil.
