Heron Preston enlists a diverse group of all-star talent in his debut Calvin Klein Campaign, which launches today. The Brooklyn native’s vision was to use fashion to create “a universal language that speaks to a global audience.”
“One that doesn’t alienate but rather invites you in this world of simplicity,” Preston says in a press release. “Removing complexity and allowing you to discover your own style though the comfort and support of the garments.”
Preston and CK’s “shared vision” for their collaboration was to create a collection for “real people,” by enlisting a star-studded cast of diverse talents. The collection features Lil Uzi Vert, Nas, Ashley Graham, Jordan Alexander, and Kaia Gerber.
Preston drew his inspiration from Calvin Klein’s signature pieces, white underwear, and t-shirt. From here, Preston revamped this look by adding in colors like “black, white, chalk, rinse blue, orange, blue, mud, natural, olive and heather grey,” according to Complex. Preston refers to his fresh take on Calvin Klein’s most iconic pieces as “a collaboration 2.0.”
The pieces, which were created from a genderless perspective, range in sizes from XS to XXL. The prices range; sweatshirts and hoodies are between $138-$298. Underwear runs from $38-$88, and the denim options for the collection are between “$185 and $225.
“We have this idea of working different visionary and creative people to help tell a Calvin Klien story through the lens of their perspective on, or experience with the brand,” CK’s Global Chief Merchant and Head of Product Strategy & New Product Jacob Jordan tells Complex. “I see this project as a first step; it’s a reawakening for the brand, moving us closer in our connections to culture and creativity. It is about forming interconnected partnerships who can help us tell our story in a way that maybe we couldn’t on our own.”
