Black women are absolutely magic! This month we have had the pleasure of experiencing black women in the music industry make history with some great hits. Queen Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Hot girl Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat are dominating the Billboard charts this week.

Beyonce and Megan Thee Stallion surprised us with a secret remix to “Savage” on April 29, 2020. After a snippet of the song was leaked which threatened the surprise element that Beyonce is known for, the full song was released on all music streaming platforms that same day.

Megan Thee Stallion shares the news via Instagram, “HOTTIES WE JUST HIT NUMBER 2 ON THE HOT 100🔥🔥🔥 🐝🐎 we’ve come so far 😭😭😭 I promise to keep working hard and getting better everytime ! Thank y’all for growing with me 💕💕💕💕 look at all this girl power !”

Shortly after, Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj dropped the “Say So” remix on May 1, 2020. Billboard announced Monday that Doja Cat’s “Say So,” has made its way to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. Before sliding into the #1 slot, Doja went to her Twitter to have a little fun with her fans. This is the first time Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj hit #1 on Billboard.

This means for the first time in Billboard history, four black women occupy the top 2 spots of the Hot 100 chart. Not only that, two legends in the game have collaborated with new comers which is sure to solidify their reign in the industry. Congratulations ladies!
