Issa Rae Will Voice Spider-Woman in the Film ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Sequel

Producer and Award-Winning Actress Issa Rae is making some major moves, as she will be joining the voice cast of the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel.

This casting will make Issa Rae the first new cast member to join the film. Issa’s role in the sequel is confirmed, it is reported that she will be the voice of Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman. Issa Rae shared her excitement on her Instagram story.

Now, the details of the plot are being kept hidden as well but the film will continue to feature an array of Spider-characters drawn across Marvel Comics’ time and space.

What we do know is that, Issa will appear alongside Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld, both of whom will be reprising their roles (Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman respectively) from the first movie. While Rae’s role in the sequel is unconfirmed, it is reported that she will be the voice of Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman.

As far as behind the camera, Phil Lord and Chris Miller are also back as producers, as well as Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Christina Steinberg. Alonzo Ruvalcaba is co-producing.

The last bit of insight that we have on the film, is the release date which is Oct. 7, 2022.
