creator, Kenya Barris has kept his promise to his sitcom loving fans.

Back in July, JaGurl TV reported that another Black-ish spin-off is rumored to be on the way.  We are happy to report that it is true! Barris is taking his creative skills for another spin with ABC to write and produce Old-ish, which will be the third spinoff to the original series following Grown-ish and Mixed-ish.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show will star the onscreen parents of Andre Johnson (Anthony Anderson), Jenifer Lewis and Laurence Fishburne. Lewis, who plays Ruby Johnson, and Fishburne, who plays Earl “Pops” Johnson, will continue their comedic banter and reignite their romance while moving into a new Los Angeles neighborhood that’s going through gentrification.

Barris is being tight lipped with what we can expect but he has said he hopes the series, “adds to the world in a really special way.”

Barris has also made headlines this year with the release of his Netflix show “#BlackAF.” The controversial show sparked conversation with topics related Black lives. Despite this year’s climate, he faced the criticism and is continuing the series for a second season.

We are excited to see what our favorite Black series will bring!
