Jennifer Hudson Could Have a New Talk Show in The Works

It seems that Jennifer Hudson is taking a career change to daytime television. It has been reported that the American Idol alum has been working with Warner Bros. to test out the idea of a new talk show with a possible launch next year.

According to Variety Magazine, Hudson has been working with a team of producers from the Ellen Degeneres Show. The outlet reports that although Hudson has been working very closely with executive producers, Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly. This will not be a continuation of Ellen’s show, in fact, it will be an entirely new concept. However, with Ellen’s show coming to an end this could be the production company’s new flagship series.

The Voice coach and Daytime Emmy award winner is one of the more obvious choices to take on this new venture. Producers see that Hudson’s personality shines through on television making her a perfect fit as talk show host. At the moment, the show is in first-run status. There are no plans of pitching to other networks or streaming platforms.
