Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to Honor Kobe Bryant During Super Bowl LIV Halftime Performance‬

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira revealed that their Super Bowl LIV Halftime Performance will not only pay homage to Latino culture, but they are promising a joint performance to honor Kobe Bryant. “We’ll all be remembering Kobe on Sunday and celebrating life and diversity in this country,” Shakira shared at the Super Bowl press conference on Thursday. “I’m sure he’d be very proud to see the message we are trying to convey on stage that day.”

The Kansas City Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers at Hard Rock Stadium just a week after the deaths of Kobe, his 13 year old daughter Gianna; and seven other passengers in a helicopter crash in California.

As the singers were rehearsing, Lopez fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, approached her with tears running down his face to inform her of Bryant, his long time friend, had passed away. “We have to love people when they’re here and not wait,” Lopez shared. “I think about Vanessa as a mom and losing her best friend and partner, and losing her child, you know. How awful that must be for her right now, and I just wanted to send the message and praying God guides her through every moment because she has three more babies to take care of.”

We’re excited to see what the two have in store for us during their halftime show.
