Jermaine Dupri is planning for Atlanta artists to perform during Super Bowl Live

The Grammy winning producer was asked by the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee to choose local artist to perform at Super Bowl Live which is a week of free events for fans preceding the February 3rd game. On Wednesday, Dupri announced two out of the six lineups. He even was able to bring on heavy hitters to help plan out the week like DJ Smurf. “A lot of times when these events come to the city, they represent what they think Atlanta should be, and we’re usually not a part of it,” he said. “I’m so proud and honored and happy that you guys made (Dupri) the head of it, so he could make us a part of it. So thank you,” says DJ Smurf.

DJ Smurf’s set will feature artists from Atlanta’s Freaknik and Crunk era such as Tag Team, MC Shy D, Ying Yang Twins, Kilo Ali, and KP & Envyi. Another DJ with a lineup is DJ Holiday. Holiday will be rolling in the young crowd with YFN Lucci, Waka Flocka, K Camp, Trinidad James, Swag Surf Boys, Coca Vango, Light Skin Keisha, Derez Deshon and Goodie Mob. Many were not happy with the NFL’s decision to get Maroon 5 as the Halftime show for the 2019 Atlanta Super Bowl. They thought a performer that symbolized Atlanta’s culture and contribution to the music scene should have been chosen. So, thanks to the work of Jermaine Dupri all should be happy now.
