Kanye West Says God is Using Him Through His Music

GRAMMY Award winning rapper and music producer Kanye West has been in the news in the last few months because of his recent gospel music ventures. It seemed as though out of nowhere, West began holding live Sunday Service performances both at his home church in Calabasses, California and on the road.

Recently, while filming an episode of Carpool Karaoke, Kanye said that God put it on his heart to do the Sunday Services. West told the television show’s host James Corden, that his story wouldn’t be as compelling to others if he had not gone through the suffering that he has in his life. “God has always had a plan for me, and he always wanted to use me, but I think He wanted me to suffer more. He wanted people to see my suffering and see my pain, put stigmas on me and have me go through all the human experiences. So now when I talk about how Jesus saved me, more people can relate to that experience.”

West also said that God is using him to show off. “Last year I made $115 million dollars and still ended up $35 million dollars in debt. This year, I looked up and I just got $68 million dollars returned to me on my tax returns. People need to hear someone that had been put into debt by the system, talk about these kind of numbers now that they are in service to Christ. He’s showing off, He’s just showing out. Kanye Westworks for God!”

Kanye released his 9th studio album titled, ‘Jesus is King’ last week. West describes it as “an expression of gospel” and its available on multiple streaming outlets.
