On Sunday night, Hulu debuted a brand new teaser for an upcoming series called Little Fires Everywhere. Based on Celeste Ng’s 2017 bestseller, Little Fires Everywhere highlights the drama between Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon’s characters as they go face to face.
Reese Witherspoon plays Elena Richardson, a woman who is the head of a prosperous family and leases out a part of her her beautiful home to Mia Warren. Warren, played by Kerry Washington, was originally homeless and moves in exchange for house work. Warren comes with a car full of items, her daughter Pearl, and a past full of secrets.
“A good mother makes good choices,” Elena tells Mia in the trailer, to which Mia responds, “You didn’t make good choices! You had good choices!” The story is shared in a flashback style, after the Richardson’s home caught on fire and the officer questions if it was incendiarism. Elena reflects on how her relationship with Mia started to spiral out of control and how their families’ lives were unfolding by her presence.
