Kim Kardashian West Buys Janet Jackson’s Outfit from 1993 Single ‘If’

Over the weekend music Icon Janet Jackson celebrated her 55th birthday and another celebrity celebrated a gift from Janet.

Julien’s Auctions held a three-day auction event in honor of Jackson’s birthday, and Kim Kardashian definitely took advantage of the auction!

Kim has announced that she recently had purchased the outfit Jackson wore in the music video for her 1993 single “If.”

The cropped suede top and accompanying black lace-up front pants had sold for a whopping $25,000.

Kim shared her excitement in an Instagram story including a clip of Janet from the music video, as well as wishing the Icon a happy birthday

“Happy birthday queen!,” Kardashian West wrote on her Instagram Story and then shared “For @janetjackson’s bday bc I’m such a fan I can’t believe I won this on juliens_auctions.”

The auction featured over 1,000 of Janet Jackson’s most iconic music video, tour and television performance costumes and ensembles, red carpet appearance gowns as well as personal items and accessories owned and used by Janet Jackson herself!

“A portion of the proceeds from the auction will benefit Compassion International, a global child-advocacy ministry that partners with churches around the world to release children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty,” according to the press release. “Over 1,000 illustrious items owned by one of the world’s most celebrated and accomplished creative forces will be presented by Julien’s Auctions in this one-time only special event.”
