Rapper, Lil Baby, has had an amazing 2020 so far and he is continuing this year by giving back to his community.
On Wednesday March 4th, Lil Baby not only surprised the students at his former high school, Booker T. Washington High in Atlanta, GA, by performing for them, but he also put his money where his mouth is in the form of a $150,000 dollar scholarship.
The scholarship which has been dubbed the “My Turn” Scholarship, after his hit album released February 28th, is the first of its kind from the rapper. He plans to make it an annual scholarship, saying,”Every year, I’ma be giving a scholarship,”
Lil baby spoke to Billboard about how much this experience means to him, “From the time I left here to now, I’ve had a crazy journey; Just to be able to come back on a positive note and actually touch this ground again and see some of these faces again… I can’t even explain it. I was once in a state where I knew for sure I wasn’t ever coming back here. To be able to come, give back and be something and perform for children, that means everything to me.”
