You can only expect the BET Soul Train Awards to stir up nostalgia, and this year’s ceremony was not different. Taking place at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas this past Sunday, the 2019 celebration was hosted by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold. JaGurl TV catch up with Tyler Perry’s The Oval cast member Lodric D Collins to discuss his reaction to being apart of the number one drama on television.
“It feels really really really good. It’s proof that whatever you can dream, God can dream bigger. I was just really excited about being on a really cool show, but then we get to find out that it’s the number one show on cable tv. It’s like beyond the moon! I’m excited, you know, and thankful for the fans that’s supporting it.”
When Collins heard the news about The Oval being number one, he was at a film festival in LA. “I’m from Louisiana, but I was at a film festival in LA and my agent called and was like ‘hey guess what’, and so then I had to step out and do my… you know lol. I didn’t get a chance to celebrate because it all happened so quick, like the minute I found out I was in Atlanta we were shooting. So I mean I got back and you know friends and family got together, and we did our thing.”
