On August 14th, 2018 BET announced that Queen Latifah will be hosting their annual ‘Black Girls Rock’ awards show this year. Every year ‘Black Girls Rock’ shows the world how much African American women across this nation have accomplished, while at the same time honoring major moguls within the industry. The awards show will be held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, in Newark, NJ which is also Queen Latifah’s home town. CEO of ‘Black Girls Rock’ Beverly Bond announced the exciting news on BET, and also shared a kind message to Queen Latifah. “Queen Latifah is the epitome of black excellence, hip-hop royalty, and black girl magic! She has been a long time supporter of ‘Black Girls Rock’ and has been honored at both of our televised and pre-televised shows. I am so thrilled to welcome her back to the Black Girls Rock stage as a host,’ says Beverly Bond. We can’t wait to see all the black girl magic ‘Black Girls Rock’ has in store for 2018!
