Remembering Actor and Comedian John Witherspoon

The world is at a lost as actor John Witherspoon has been confirmed dead at age 77. Leaving the world reminiscing on the funny roles he’s played and well-known for, no one can believe that another iconic actor is now gone.

Starting off as a standup comedian, Witherspoon slowly made his way onto the TV screens causing a bunch of loud laughter around the world that fans are now reminiscing about. The comedian left several classic movies behind, and fans cannot help but to post different clips of his work on social media.

Posting clips of Witherspoon as iconic characters including Willie Jones in the hit classic, Friday. Being the funny/over the top father of Eddie Murphy in the romance movie, Boomerang. Having everyone cry laugh at the animated character Robert Jebediah Freeman in the hit TV series, Boondocks. Being the father to the Wayne’s on the comedic show, The Wayne Brothers. Witherspoon brought endless funny to the TV screens.

Celebrities have taken the time to speak about John Witherspoon, as well as his son. Marlon Wayne posted a photo of Witherspoon in a photo with Shawn and Marlon Wayne with some heart felt words.

J.D. Witherspoon posted a photos of him and his beloved father with the caption, “So .. my dad died today & honestly I’m not sure how to feel. I’m sad, but I’m also happy 4 all the great times we had together. We’d roast each other like homies more than Father & Son, and I really liked that. He was my best friend & my idol. Love U Dad .. I’ll miss u.”

Ice Cube, Regina King, Arsenio Hall, and other celebrities have all been paying tribute to the comedian.
