Safaree Samuels, television personality, rapper, and songwriter and Erica Mena have been dating for quite some time now. The couple first met in 2015 after their previous long term relationships with Shad Moss and Nicki Minaj had ended and in 2017 they became friends while hosting VH1’s Scared Famous. In December 2018 Safaree proposed to Ms. Mena. Erica thought that it would be a little date night but she never expected to end the night writing a thoughtful caption about her engagement. “I’m absolutely the luckiest woman in the world. A Man who has never been afraid to love me. A MAN who has been here and knows everything I been through. Everything before this- It no longer matters.”
Early May, Articles flooded the Internet claiming that the infamous couple broke up. MediaTakeOut started the accusation by saying “First off, both Erica and Safaree have been noticeably silent on social media for the past couple of weeks. When the two first started dating, they would post relationship pics online nearly daily.And yesterday, Erica posted a few things that suggest she is single again. The posts contained messages about her needing the “appropriate” kind of love.”
Safaree sat down with the “Dinner with Avery’s Podcast” while on vacation in Jamaica. When asked if his relationship ended with Erica, his immediate response was “I don’t know where that came from… in May for the first 2-3 weeks I was gone, for the first 2-3 weeks I was in Fresno California by myself and I was training, she was on the east coast and I was on the west coast and we didn’t see each other for almost 3 weeks.”
Ms. Avery asked the question “How did he know that Erica was the one?” “I felt like I was losing my damn mind, like She was making me go crazy. Like if I would go a few times without seeing her, I would get like these crazy headaches.” He also says that At first It was hard to see the real Erica due to her having walls up. But as time progressed in the relationship he noticed that “it was like her guard is coming down.”
Safaree says that they do not have a wedding date set yet, but he does have some well thought out plans for the big event that’ll take time to produce. He says that the wedding will not be soon. But he is interested in the thought of a summer wedding.
