Selena Marie Gomez is an American singer, actress, producer, and influencer. She was hailed as the ‘Queen of Instagram’ back in 2016 for being the most followed celebrity on the platform. Since then, she has taken a break of four years, neither relying nor engaging on the internet of things. However, she is back and proudly exclaims it has done wonders for her mental health. “It has changed my life completely.”

In conversation with Good Morning America, Selena expresses the benefits she has reaped. “I am happier, I am more present, and I connect more with people.”

She explains it has much less to do with any form of distrust for the internet and more of an intentional focus on self-care. “I understand how powerful the internet is, and in so many ways, it’s done the best things for the world. But for me, I get to the news that is important to me, and I get it through people in my life.”

With her reignited and reinvigorated personal wellness, she desires to spread positivity to others who want a mental health balance. Selena is proudly advocating for Wondermind, a mental health platform she helped found with Mandy Teefey and Daniela Pierson. “The goal is to make resources available to those in need.”

“There are places where people go when they need help, and, unfortunately, they cost ridiculous amounts of money.” Selena and her co-founders aim to disrupt this practice by creating Wondermind.
