After passing the HEROES Act, a proposed legislation passed by the United States House Of Representatives on May 15, 2020 that is worth $3 trillion in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many Americans are still seeking aid as we try to get the economy back on track. Although the government’s efforts was to help those who have been financially affected by the coronavirus, the nation has been in a frenzy as citizens get removed from their homes, desperately seek for jobs, and try to get their life back on track with the limited resources that have been provided.
It has been reported that Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, agreed to another round of payments for the American people.
“The economy needs another shot of adrenaline,” McConnell told Fox News. “If we lose control of the virus…everything else will be window dressing.” According to HuffPost, a full-fledged GOP proposal is expected later this week.
The Trump administration is pushing for the approval of a stimulus package with a price tag of $1 trillion in support of the next round of stimulus checks.
America has just started to get their feet wet as unemployment continues to rise and the $600 bonus for unemployment benefits is set to expire. This is in effort to “incentivize” Americans to seek jobs in a flailing job market, according to Senate GOP. The 2020 elections are quickly approaching and this bill can have a major impact in the polls based on its performance.
A full proposal of the bill is set to be discussed this week.
