Swae Lee has just recently announced his new fashion project on Instagram. A collaboration with Giuseppe Zanotti is expected to be released including a collection of floral print heeled boots for men. Lee realizes that these designs are different in the men fashion industry but is ready to break gender barriers with his new collection. After a Giuseppe Zanotti x Swae Lee shoe collection launch at Saks Fifth Avenue in Miami, we got a look at the collection in all its glory.
On his Instagram Lee stated, “New Limited Edition @giuseppezanotti shoes designed by Me whole collection will be available in Miami Super Bowl weekend only at Saks Fifth brickwell city Centre SWIPE RIGHT !!”
On Tuesday February 18, 2020, Swae Lee was asked why he is choosing to design heeled shoes for men in an interview with Footwear News. Lee mention how most rappers are afraid to be different. He said, “They want to think the old ways and put a limit on that shit. I’m not scared to be different.”
One design of a powder pink anklet boot with a thick heel is included in the new collection. Swae Lee explains that his purpose for this collection is to complete a look, as a shoe does. “It was up to me to make the most key part of the outfit, so it was way different.”
It is clear that he is taking fashion a step further to help people with feeling good about their image. Making his fashion piece gender-neutral is something new from what we are used to seeing from other rappers.
