At midnight, social media went crazy. After the long awaited years, Lil Wayne released “Tha Carter V”. *inserts the infamous Lil Wayne lighter flicker*. The new album features 23 songs and has numerous features from the greats. Some include the late great XXXTENTACION where Lil Wayne expresses his emotions on the death of the young rapper, saying, “I want a triple extension on my after life, rest in paradise”. The album also features Snoop Dog, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, and even features Obama on his “Dedicated” track.
But from all the amazing features, once the album begins, it’s heartfelt. It’s warm and just might bring tears to your eyes. Carter V opens up with his mother speaking, titled “I Love You Dwayne”. She expresses how much she loves her son and how he is her rock. She begins to cry as she talks about how her son continues to make a way for her and makes sure she is always treated well. An amazing, rapper, and son.
