The singer The Weeknd went to social media two days ago to urge everyone, including those who are financially wealthy to donate to organizations that are bringing awareness to discrimination within the justice system. He also encouraged and supported the protesters that are fighting for racial equality following the death of George Floyd.
“Keep supporting our brothers and sisters out there risking everything to push for actual change for our black lives. Urging everyone with big pockets to give and give big and if you have less please give what you can even if it’s a small amount.” The Weeknd stated in his Instagram post caption.
In the post according to Complex, the singer showed number of donations he made which totaled to $500,000. He gave $200,0000 to the Black Lives Matter Global Network, $200,000 to Colin Kaepernick Know Your Rights campaign and $100,000 to National Bail Out.
