T.I. Talks Colorism Within The Hip Hip Industry of Women

Rap legend, T.I is no stranger to the Hip Hop game and the ropes of the industry, and definitely no stranger to expressing his opinions on controversial topics.

With female rap artists emerging in hip hop, including T.I’s artist Tokyo Jetz and more have expressed and opened up about colorism being an issue amongst women of color in Hip Hop and how it can shape their success.

T.I mentioned in his virtual BET Hip Hop 2020 awards interview that “people’s opinion are going to sway different ways, some people like tall girls, some people rather short girls, some people like big girls, some people like thin girls, some people like natural hair” he says “I think it exists in every industry, because it’s the free will of opinion that’s judging and determining, whether or not these beautiful young ladies will have the opportunities that are available out there.”

T.I is set to present during the 2020 BET Hip Hop awards, alongside Snoop Dogg. There will also be performances from 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Burna Boy featuring Chris Martin, City Girls, Gucci Mane, Jhenè Aiko, Lil Baby, Mulatto, Quavo, Tobe Nwigwe and Ty Dolla $ign.
