Winter is quickly approaching which calls for breaking out the heavier garments. Colder temps mean facing the decision between practicality to stay warm, or choosing something that can also look good. We’ve compiled a list of 5 essential winter fashion items and show you how some of our favorites rocked their winter style.
Leather
Leather is a material that is not only timeless, but also edgy and hey, it keeps us warm. Yandy Smith pairs a calf length leather skirt with open toe black boots perfectly!
Fur
Fur is a classic and faux fur is a great alternative to real fur coats that were worn prior to animal rights activist protests becoming a thing. What’s even better is that faux fur is much more affordable. Lady Gaga is shown here in Milan wearing a fur and leather zip up jacket.
Sweater Dresses
Sweater Dresses are a style problem solver. No mixing and matching necessary (other than shoes of course). They go great when paired with boots. Black-ish actress Yara Shahidi finds time to film, study at Harvard and stay stylish in the winter.
Caps
Oversized capes, cloaks and scarves. Oprah Winfrey nailed this one during Paris fashion week at Stella McCartney’s presentation. She sat alongside Janelle Monet and Alexa Chung.
Puffer Jacket
A puffer coat in the winter is simply smart. Drake wore a fur hooded puffer coat while outside in West Hollywood at the Peppermint Club.
