Viola Davis Reveals Cover to Memoir Releasing in 2022

We loved her on Shonda Thursdays, The Help, and Netflix’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom; soon we’ll be able to dive into the award-winning actor, Viola Davis’s life. In 2022, Davis plans to release her memoir “Finding ME: My Life, My Story, My Words”, detailing her inspiring story of her life in Rhode Island. She took to Twitter to announce the cover reveal.

Davis has graced our screens in many roles allowing us to see her range. She will now be on our bookshelves permitting us to travel back to her humble beginnings to her rise to success as one of the most successful Black actresses. “Straight…no chaser” is how Davis describes the details of her memoir. Davis shared with Oprah Daily, “Sharing my story is incredibly frightening but liberating. More importantly, it’s my way of helping people feel less alone in a world that is so isolating. It’s part of the building block of my legacy.” 

When speaking about a Mount Rushmore of Black actresses many names may come to mind, Angela Bassett, Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and many more. But, if there is one name that many can agree belongs on their mountain, it is, Viola Davis, and on April 26, 2022 we will be able to take a closer look in to her very decorated life.
