From his unexpected growth on social media to the BET Hip Hop Awards, teenage heartthrob YK Osiris is determined to leave his mark in the music industry. Born Osiris Williams, the 19-year old singer has been taking his music career to the next level since 2018 and quickly becoming a household name. With two breakout singles entitled “I’m Next” and “Loyalty” , he earned a spot on the 2019 Freshman Class XXL cover. His first Billboard Hot 100 entry was his single “Worth It”.
JaGurl TV caught up with the Def Jam artist on the green carpet at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards to talk more on how he secured his recent collaborations with Kehlani for his single “Ride” which dropped Friday October 4th. “To be honest, I had sent her the record and she did it like 3 hours and sent it back quick… she loved it and just sent it back same day, she’s very humble; I love Kehlani.” The single is set to be on his upcoming album The Golden Child releasing on October 11th, 2019.
He also shared the details on being featured on Da Baby’s song “Gospel” from his recent album KIRK, “He just told me to pull up to studio to do it, and I did it”. YK Osiris and Da Baby had met before at the studio, reconnected, and the rest is history.
