The 4th Annual 2019 Black Music Honors is currently airing in national broadcast syndication and many can’t wait to see the highly anticipated event hosted by Rickey Smiley and Letoya Luckett. The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, Ga was filled with some of music’s most legendary African American artist as they accepted awards and honors for their accomplishments in music. Gospel Singer and radio morning show host Yolanda Adams was in attendance as she was being honored with the Gospel Music Icon Award. We spoke with the “Queen of Contemporary Gospel Music” on the Red Carpet about receiving this honor.

Yolanda Adams has been singing Gospel music since 1987 and according to Wikipedia she sold over 8 million albums worldwide. Adams is well deserving of Icon status.“Oh my gosh it feels so amazing, I’m just glad to be here first of all, and then to be honored for something I absolutely love to do …is just amazing.” said Adams.

Adams also has been shaking up the airwaves with her Syndicated show, The Yolanda Adams Morning Show with Comedian Marcus Dewily. With both morning show host being Alumni’s of Texas Southern University, we were excited to hear that the show will now be taped at their Alma matar “Marcus and I are both from Houston, Texas but were moving the building into Texas Southern University School of Communications…and were still syndicated so if you go on YolandaAdamsLive.com it will show you where were live in each city”.

Congratulations to Yolanda Adams on her accomplishments. Be sure to check out the Black Music Honors awards airing on Bounce TV, Sunday October 20th.
